tell them that you really want to stay at school and there is no need for them to worry about it anymore
also i think if you reassure them that everything has been ok since the incident and that you will keep in touch often as possible to let them know how you are if they let you stay.
and i agree i hope he goes to jail. thats a horrible thing to do to someone. i hope your ok now  and that your parents listen to them. if you make them realise its really what you want them they should listen.
