Thanks for taking the time to read it and for your reply.
I deleted the original post because I had a paranoid moment in case he saw it.. although I highly doubt he ever would  Yeah I think I'm gonna give it a shot - I've got nothing to lose...he might turn out to be worth it in the end. I WANT to ask him, but I can't just come out with it.

This takes courage.... lots of it. Only you can find that courage somewhere inside yourself. Like you said, what have you got to lose? take a risk, if he is friends with you, he oughta recognise that you've taken a risk. Best of luck.
