Default It has finally been proven that Homosexuality is not a choice.

Researchers at the Stockholm Brain Institute in Sweden investigated "two separate parameters, both unlikely to be directly affected by learned patterns and behavior" in 90 men and women -- 50 heterosexual and 40 homosexual -- using magnetic resonance imagery (MRI).

Fifty people who took part in the study were also given positron emission tomography (PET) scans to study the amygdalae, masses of nuclei located deep within the temporal lobes which control arousal, fear and emotional responses, and hormonal secretions.

The results showed that the right-hand brain hemisphere was larger in heterosexual men and homosexual women, while homosexual men's and heterosexual women's brain hemispheres were symmetrical.

Homosexual men showed another brain similarity with heterosexual women in their amygdala connections, which process certain emotions, as did homosexual women and straight men.

"The amygdala has a key role in emotional reactions to external stimuli, including stress," the authors of the study said, hypothesizing that the amygdala of straight men and gay women could be "wired for a greater fight-or-flight response," reportedly more common in men.
In simple terms, this means that the brain of a homosexual male resembles that of a heterosexual female, and the brain of a homosexual female resembles the brain of a heterosexual male.

I have always thought this to be common sense: the concept of homosexuality not being a choice, since it has been proven to occur in animals as well. Not to mention, the concept of someone choosing such a life, where they would be condemned, hated, and discriminated against, is ludicrous.

Hmm going to have to look into this, not because I don't believe it, but usually when one institute comes out with something like this, it's either biased or there was no control..etc..etc..

That makes no sense. There was no room to be biased, and there is nothing in the study that 'needed to be controlled'.
All they did was examine their brains, and compare them.

Anyone who has any common sense knows it.
However, this is the first time it has actually been directly scientifically proven.

Kind of obvious. Thats why generally males who are homosexual act in a more feminine way, and vice versa.

We can leave the discrimination to those who have not developed past the mental age of a fetus however (discrimination afterall being a natural instinct, but counteracted by morals which we learn through life-experience).

Well yea... as everyone else said its kinda obvious but you really need many more institutes to test this to pass it as a scientific fact.
