Default Which came first?

Chicken or the egg?

I think it's the egg.

The Egg.
But it was made from two different species, so then the chicken was created.
Evolution FTW.

Exactly. The chicken's ancestor gave birth to an egg which grew into a still fertile mutant, which then mated with the ancestor, and over many thousands of years and many mutations, an egg hatched and was what we now know as a chicken.

Here is everyone's favorite source for reasoning--according to the Bible, the chicken came first.

However, considering origins of the evolutionary process, how do we figure the original organism came from an egg?

Research. That's the way science works. Maybe we'll never know? We do at least know it wasn't just *poof* chicken!

We KNOW that it wasn't *POOF* chicken? How the heck did I miss that?

Where did you hear this? And what does it say?

Ok, everything we know about existence says this cannot happen and things do not poof into existence without coming from something. If you wanna go into extreme skepticism and say the universe isn't at all what we perceive it to be then maybe that could be the case, but as per our current knowledge such a suggestion is nothing short of silly.

Well, being a Bible-based thinker, I believe that God created the animal directly through His own powers, as in like, literally, * point the finger and there it is*

Ok but everything we know about existence, except for one religious book's take, says that's not how it happened. And the one book that disagrees isn't even based on scientific observation of reality.

Yes, you're correct( obviously). But though claiming the super-natural to be the actual result of something, instead of a completely natural, explainable thing, is rather sketchy and easily-abused--can I say it could "very well" be the actual truth?

I know most say " well, it's God's doing, so we can trust in it", or something similar, but what if those irrational people's result of flawed reasoning is true? I mean, I differ from most Bible-based thinkers in my reasoning, so I can only assure you that I do NOT just hide behind the possibility of it just-being-a-work-of-a-perfect-God, out of uncertainty and fear, as many christians seem to do.
