I work in the medical field, and I have NEVER met a person that would prefer to be in bed instead out side in the fresh air. And I'm sure that the little 7-year old girl that weighs 250 pounds would rather be outside in the sunshine playing with her friends, instead of going through medical procedures everyday because she has problems standing up.

And believe me, if they're to the point where they can't move because they're so obese, they KNOW it's a problem. Not just because they can't move on their own, but the doctors let them know, and they feel it everytime the staff has to use a giant machine just to get them out of bed so they can use the toilet.

How do you not realize that being so fat that you can't move is a problem? I know some people live sheltered lives but I know that person has to have a television in their room, which they most likely watch and see what 'normal' people look like. No, I am not saying that everyone has to try to have a model's body or anything like that but looking healthy is always a good thing.

Plus no one likes seeing anorexic women and men either, let alone huge masses of flesh.

Im not talking about kids.
I happen to know a lot of people who would rather be indoors then outside.
Everyone is different, some people may prefer to live in their beds...I just don't find it respectful to our bodies.

Well find someone that tells you that and I will agree with you, but I highly doubt seeing anyone like that just because those people that are that much over weight, do not do that to themselves [like Girl said.]

Now, I cannot stand the ones that do nothing but bitch about their weight and then do nothing about it or say that they are going to start excersising and eating right to 'fix' it but then don't. Those are the people you should 'dislike.'

If you could see people that live like that everyday I'm sure you'd change your mind. Someone that's stuck in a bed has to be turned and positioned every two hours, or else they can develop sores, and with an obese person that risk is increased due to all the folds in the skin. If they don't receive proper care they can end up in a lot of pain, and unfortunately a lot of health care workers these days are only in it for the money. And even if that's not the case, it's still really humiliating to be a grown man or woman who has to depend on strangers to clean their private areas, dress them, bathe them, toilet them...you really have no idea what they go through.

I don't dislike the person. I don't like the choices they've made.
You have no idea what other people think. so you can't speak for everyone. Someone might have the idea that if the reach a certain weight, they wont have to work anymore. After they achieve this, they might have problems controlling themselves and gain even more weight.

They have to get themselves there first.
Which would be rock bottom for whatever path they chose in life.
Alot of people who end up there could of stopped it.
I just think if someone would abuse their body until they got to that point, isn't respectful.

Just like what you just said, you can't speak for everyone. Yes, there are trashy people out there that like to take advantages of the loop holes in society. Like those who get harmed in a work accident and then end up being handicapped so they don't ever try to find another job in their entire life because the state pays them to be lazy. There are people out there and keep having kids and we pay for their food with our taxes but that doesn't mean that someone can get that lazy and that huge.

That is what you are not understanding. No one can get THAT big without a little help from their body. Just like me. I have people make fun of how skinny I am all of the time but I eat like a horse. It isn't my fault that I have a high metabolism and cannot gain the weight I wish I could.
No. I do not fall back on that as an excuse for why I am the way I am but I keep myself in shape and I eat.

How can someone choose to have glandular problems?
And if someone just thinks that they're going to eat themselves to obesity to escape the real world, then they're both childish and idiotic. If the health risks don't kill them, then the bills will.

Glandular problems can be controlled, in most cases.
And that's exactly why i don't respect them...

I understand.
But these people obviously did something to push their bodies to the limit and get to that state.
Everyone is made differently, and i know that...but most people who are in these conditions could of done something, worked out a little more, made healthier decisions to keep themselves away from being stuck in bed.
