We're not talking about the same people then. Yes, SOME people that are born with gland problems live normal happy lives, and SOME, though they don't over eat, and they don't just sit around all day, still end up morbidly obese and in the hospital. You seem to think those two groups are interchangeable, when they're really not.

Did you ever stop to consider the kind of food that's made readily available to people now a days? I'm not talking about McDonalds, people KNOW that it's bad for them, and yet they still stuff their kids with it. But a lot of the food you find in grocery stores contains growth hormones and chemicals that are bad for you, and not only cause obesity but also affect your mental health.

There are certain things you can do throughout your life to prevent cancer and yet people still get it.
Just like there are certain things you can do throughout life to prevent obesity but it still happens even though people tried their hardest.
If they try their hardest, they wont get into that state of being stuck in bed.

I never said they were interchangeable. and i know that SOME people who were bed ridden couldn't control it. Not everyone has time to exercise and maintain a healthy lifestyle but honestly in MOST of the cases they could have prevented being bed ridden. Even if they are obese they can still go out, and live. Alot of people do.

The growth hormones are a completely different issue. I don't know much about hormones/chemicals that are used in our food, but there probably isn't enough to greatly effect our health.

Clearly we have different opinions on this subject, and I'm not saying you guys are wrong, and that im right, i just really dont feel like debating it all night. So i'm ending it.

I think that if you lived like they did you would change your opinion.
No matter what you say, you just cannot prevent everything.
But I guess there's no sense in beating a dead horse.

And as for our food supply, I would suggest you do some research.

Alright. Here comes story time.
My aunt died of lung cancer in 2006 when she never touched a cigarette in her life. She never worked around chemicals that caused harm to her lungs or in a body shop, so she you're telling me that she didn't try hard enough to not get cancer?

It is like I am talking to a close minded fool. Please, learn what you are talking about before you try to have a debate.

Cancer and Obesity are different things.
I know about cancer.
You can't prevent it, but you can reduce risks.
Im Sorry about your aunt, i know it's a hard thing to go through.

If you were me, you honestly wouldn't be calling me closed minded.

If you know what you are talking about, then why are you arguing about this entire thing?
You can't honestly sit there and say that people can choose what health problems that they get diagnosed with. YES, you can try to prevent them but that doesn't always mean that they won't show up or be there. That is the only thing I am asking you to accept. You are acting as if these people chose to become the way that they are when they didn't.

YES there are people out there that get themselves into an unhealthy condition because of their choices in life BUT the ones that get that bad, have something wrong with them.

It's more of a debate. We just see it differently.
And you arent getting what im saying. When you're bed ridden because of obesity, you most likely knew ahead of time that there was a problem. So the smart thing to do would be to change your diet, exercise, just things like that. So even if you had been diagnosed with a problem dealing with weight, it would still affect you, but you could still live.
Cancer isn't the same. You can fight it, but you might not win. And if you unfortunately get diagnosed as terminal, you're probably going to die, and there is nothing you can do, you might be able to slow it down, but that's it. and it isn't your fault.

Ever think that maybe those people in the hospital were fighting it and "just didn't win"?

Wow. What does cancer have to do with this? Obesity is not a terminal illness.

You're twisting her words around, and not even doing it that well.

Yes, but not for very many people.
Most probably weren't fighting it.
And some probably thought it wasn't major problem, so they ignored it till it was too late.
