Default High performance green vehicle?

0-60 in 4 seconds

A torque curve that starts from 0 RPM at 300 ft-lbs

Top speed of 130 mph

90% efficient (80% at top performance)

This may sound like the specs for a Ferrari but you'll be saving on gas for two big reasons, firstly you get the equivalent of 135 miles per gallon, and secondly because it doesn't use gas at all, it's electric (boogie woogie woogie)

The Tesla Roadster being built by Lotus is the worlds first electric powered performance car. It has performance comparable to a Porsche Carrera GT and runs on thousands of lithium ion batteries. Charging takes about three hours and the car can travel 245 miles on a single charge. It's truly the future of automobiles.

We respectfully disagree. We believe driving is exhilarating. Just watch any child on a go-cart and the joy is plain to see. And when you can soar along at top speed, knowing the only oil in the car is in the transmission, the only emissions are the songs from the radio, the ride becomes more enjoyable still.
Here's a link to their site. http://www.teslamotors.com/

This is proof that nothing stands in the way of us dropping our dependency on oil but the oil companies themselves.

Clearly Jess either A) doesn't know what aviators are or B) is joking.

I get this argument every time I bring this car up, however even if you used a gas-powered generator to charge the car it'd STILL be cleaner then just using a gas engine vehicle, not to mention that there are very clean methods of producing energy like solar, wind, and nuclear power. No matter how you cut it it's a huge step in the right direction. Is it a perfect solution? No. Is it a MUCH cleaner solution then gasoline or diesel? Absolutely.

It's not? For me that's enough to get me to and from work every day for a month without needing a charge, and even if it can only get you to and from work daily, you can just charge it every night.

I also think it's a very good one. Electricity is energy, but a cleaner one. All the resources of this planet such as gas will soon be finished, and then we will need some different kind of fuel - electricity is a great one! You can get it from almost everything... I'd definitely buy one of these kind of cars when I'll have the money. I don't need a car to beat light-speed, nor one to refuel every street corner :|
