Sooo, I am looking for a new laptop, and i am really clueless as to what i should be looking for! Any suggestions on what is good. Any tips, on things i should look out for? Anything at all would be much appreciated.

I'm not a complete tech nerd, but it depends on what you want to do with your laptop.
lots of ram is good, not extended warranty(if you're going to buy from future shop etc.).

Right now i am looking at either Toshiba, HP or Dell.
And i would only be using it for basic things, chatting, internet etc. Nothing too fancy.

blahhh i lovee my macbook
but it depends....because macs will take a little getting used to because it uses a different processor
Macs use Mac OS X Leopard
Windows use Windows Vist (which sux....if ur getting windows, i advise u downgrade to Windows Xp)

Macs are VERY powerful computers...which, unfortunately, is why they are pretty expensive
if your looking for amazing processor power, great graphics.....an overall great comp...get a mac
but, on the flipside....u could get just as much power from a windows system....but it might cost a little more because you might have to make it custom..which you can do on wutever website it is

but....this is coming from a mac fan
macs, so far.....have had only 1 virus.......because the format that Mac OS X Leopard is written in is VERY hard to hack.....unlike windows, which is vulnerable to every comp virus

and plus.....they did a test....and windows even runs better on A MAC COMPUTER!!! W00T FOR MAC!!

Hmm, I've looked around at a couple Macs, and they are sorta pricey, I am buying this with my own money, so I sorta wanna keep it as cheap as possible....but still get something good, if that is even possible =/
Anyway, i was looking at Dells and there is still the option of getting Windows Xp, which i definitely like, and would probably get. And the Dell is only 699$....and i can get it in a pretty colour xD

blah.....i dont go with dells.....go with an hp or toshiba if ur going with windows
but seriously....even the cheapest mac has an intel core 2 duo processor....which is top of the line
